Laura asks Energy Secretary
Claire Coutinho if Stark is right the PM is setting the UK back on climate.
Coutinho says UK is the first country to halve its
emissions and also seen the economy grow by 80%.
But Laura pushes her on
this, saying Stark believes Sunak’s shift has had a negative impact.
Coutinho maintains the government has been
protecting household finances.
Laura asks if
the government is going more slowly on green policy, but Coutinho highlights that £30bn has come
into the energy sector.
She says the government has made changes about cost
of living – she says they don’t want to heap costs on families right now.
